I was born and brought up in Kenya, East Africa. The eldest of three children. My father was a Tea Estate Manager for Brooke Bond Tea and my mother, after bringing up her three children, was to become a Design and Technology Teacher. I grew up with a curious mind of all things creative.

After a long career as a teacher trainer in social care and talking therapies, I decided to change careers and commit to a three year degree in textile design (mixed media) at Falmouth University. This journey of self development led me to be more curious  about the materials that I was using in my practices. It was during my second year at university that I became very aware of particular types of plastics and the harm that they were doing to our environment. A collaboration started with the Council of the Isles of Scilly where I source some of my materials. Graduated - BA (Hons) Textile Design 2019.
